I'm reading this great biography about Peter Barton. The author only knew him a few months before he passed away ... on one of his earlier visits with Peter, Shames talked about Peter's weakened physical condition and how amazed he was when Peter slipped over to the piano and started to pound out some really great songs, lifting both of their spirits. Then Shames said:
"I wondered if perhaps everyone, facing death, became extraordinary; if maybe each of us had untapped reserves of nerve and strength that might prove surprising, even glorious, at the end."
So here's my challenge to you, my blogging friends:
let's find those untapped reserves while we're strong and healthy and be glorious now!
I totally agree!!!! Live like it was your last day, as the song says.
ReplyDeleteI agree! We talked about that in school today. Live like you were dying!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment. It really made my day. Also, I do love a good biography and this sounds good :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your recent visit to my blog. And I completely agree with you....we should all live 100% each day. It could be our last and how sad to go out knowing you hadn't done the things you wanted to do.
ReplyDeletegreat inspiration- and great challenge; will definitely start thinking about it!

I fully concur! we need to embrace life, not just when we are told we have little of it left...but rather each and every day!
ReplyDeletefill it with love,
fill it with laughter,
fill it with creativity!
