I don't know about your house, but in ours, some things seem to multiply until we have such an abundance that it seems to be all we can do swim our way through them. While other things: well, they just disappear. It doesn't matter how many we buy, we just can't keep them in our house. Here's an example:
At the moment, with some of our family away on trips, and visitors here ... we have a total of 4 people using this particular bathroom. I took a picture of just the one end ... note: 6 toothbrushes. The other end has a sonic toothbrush with 3 heads and one more regular toothbrush. That makes a total of 10 toothbrushes (and that's just what's on the counter). 4 people. No one will claim any of the regular toothbrushes. How does this happen? They're like bunnies ... they multiply when I'm not looking.
On the other hand: it looks like we have a plethora of socks ... be it known that not a single one of these has a mate. I promise: I bought these in pairs ~ I did NOT buy them as single items! It's gotten so bad that my girls actually started a new trend this year at school ... it's now the cool thing to wear mis-matched socks. It's about time someone started that fad.
I could probably figure out the mystery of the missing socks if I worked at it hard enough ... but the multiplying toothbrushes??? I haven't a clue.
Any ideas?
LOL...perhaps a complete removal of the tooth brushes and held until they are claimed will help to identify the owners.... as for the socks we have that here also ... Happy Monday! xo HHL
ReplyDeletehaha too funny, Things tend to go missing in our house.... but usually it has something to do wiht my tendency to pick up random things and place them somehwere else without being aware of it hahaha
ReplyDeleteThis is a funny post. But I can relate to the toothbrushes. We practice the same in the house. Take things easy, have a great day my friend!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of mismatched socks, my nana bought me a set of socks that came with three, unmatched socks (all have the same design, but different colors). About time someone took advantage of mismatched, multiplying socks!
ReplyDeleteThere should be a sock store that just sells single socks for you to find matches for.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha. That is awesome. We have the same problem around here with socks. Toothbrushes, though? Not so much.
ReplyDeleteA mystery indeed...So funny!
ReplyDeleteThat happens in my parents place too! :) Maybe you should bring them all out when everyone is gathered for dinner for proper identification. :D Heehee!
ReplyDeleteHaha! No matter how many toothbrushes I buy for my daughter, I can never seem to find one. She must have 6 or 7 and I am ALWAYS searching frantically for one at bedtime. She tends to carry them around with her and leaves them in random places. And I'm all for the mismatched sock fad! I often have mismatched socks under my boots. My little secret. Now I'm cool! Yay!

The toothbrush thing happens to me with olive oil. I keep an extra bottle in the pantry, and when the one by the stove starts to run out, I go and buy a new one instead of getting the extra out of the pantry. At one point I had 3 unopened bottles of olive oil + one half full one by the stove.
ReplyDeleteI have a solution for your socks though: Just buy a whole bunch of the exact same sock. Then each sock has a plethora of mates so it doesn't matter if you lose one. :-)
