I was listening to this song earlier today while I was deep after-Christmas cleaning. You know, vacuuming up the last of the stray tinsel, finding random ornaments hidden in corners by grandkids, bits of wrapping paper that Buddy the Dog shredded up to perhaps use for a pillow? Anyway, you get this gist.
January used to make me a little sad... such a downer after the holly jolly, warm fuzzy feelings of December. This year, though, it makes me feel rejuvenated, awake, alive and excited for the coming months.
You know that relief that you get when you drink a big glass of water after eating really rich ice cream? That's my January.
And what does this post's photo have to do with anything, you ask? Nothing. I just miss my grandson! Anyway....
This year I resolve to:
1. Take a class... not sure what or where or even on which subject (I'll keep you updated)
2. Eat fewer preservatives
3. Go on weekly dates with my husband
Mind sharing a couple of your resolutions with me?
Date nights are so lovely and we also try to make the time for them:) That photo is very sweet! Hugs and kisses, my dear
ReplyDeleteps: I am hosting a sweet necklace GIVEAWAY, later today :) ... Please, join in!
I'm taking classes this year too. First I signed up for a sewing class. I love learning :). Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteMy big one is to worry less, and trust God more.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any yet, not sure if I will. My husaband and I try to set the stage for our year in September when we both have a birthday. This is our year of the road less travelled so we are trying to do new things or our routine things in a new way, been fun so far. Sounds of Silence is one of my favorite songs.
ReplyDeleteweekly dates!!!!!! How sweet Denalee. That just melts my heart.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I love that song.
I STLL haven't truly made my resolutions yet but I think one of them is to going to be more disciplined. I always break my own rules and that's not good. Hopefully 2011 will become a year of lessons and sticking to my inner rules :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect picture with that little boy you love. I so completely understand.
ReplyDeleteLet's see...I do not do resolutions as I said in my New Years post, only goals. So here are my goals for 2011.

Hi hon! I was so pleased to see you today Thank you for the hope that I could send stress packing! I am truly struggling but I am a survivor...and don't give up easily so I will push on. What a darling pic of you and your grandchild! My main resolution this year is to keep up the exercise plan I started in October...I hope to get/stay healthy this year and to take care of ME for a change! You have some great resolutions yourself kiddo! Thanks so much for coming to see me and leaving some love! It means the world to me!

Happy new year to you!
ReplyDeleteRather than set a list of things I'd like to achieve (like I normally do), I decided to hold onto one attitude, every moment of every day...to let go...
Easier said than done!
I love date nights - my favourite night of the week and sometimes it just involves a bath :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the most precious picture that I have ever seen.
ReplyDeletexo
that is such a beautiful picture!!
ReplyDeleteJanuary is the new start month for me. Clean up all the Christmas, put them back in the box and think of how special it was to have my family all together. Kids giggling, and the joy in their voices is the gift. Since I got a ear infection this month, mostly just trying to get well. I moved my furniture...trying to get a different look with the same ole stuff....it works. Happy everyday, Mary
