Oh! Guess what? I actually styled my hair with mousse today :)
Can you tell?
Ok, that's beside the point.
There are 3 of us sisters in my family. Jennilyn just arrived to take my place with my parents. I leave in a day and a half. Though many states separate us and our others sister, we are really never far apart.
"If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child."
Linda Sunshine
"Sisters is probably the most competetive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship."
Margaret Mead
Do you have a sister? Want to share a memory?
I have three sister and miss them all so much now that I'm living away from them. No sure what I'd do without Skype!
ReplyDeleteoh! the rollercoaster of sisterhood!
ReplyDeletei have one little sister.
and only one clear memory of my life before she came along.
we were quite the duo. and we have a unique dynamic.
she is the most painfully honest person i know---something i both admire and detest.
when i think of a favorite memory--my immediate recollection is of her using her adorable, wily ways to sneak into my room at night. she was always committed to sharing a room---even when we moved into our own.
I don't have a sister but I DO have a sister in law. We're both each other's only "sister" and I'm really thankful that she's so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am a triplet. Two girls and a boy. I love my brother and sister immensely but there certainly is something wonderful about the sister to sister relationship.
ReplyDeleteSiblings, it's always both, isn't it - love and rivalry. I've got 3, so I know the feeling... Great to see your hair growing back so nicely, Deenalee! xoxo
ReplyDeleteNever felt rivalry between sisters...maybe it was the age difference or maybe it's the personality of my sisters. Both of my sisters are amazing and both are great examples to me. What a shock it was about a year and a half ago to learn my oldest sister was in a car-pedestrian accident. Even though she lost her will to live and didn't want to keep fighting through all the surgeries, pain and misery, she has been tenacious and strong and is now able to do many of the things that we all take for granted. She has taught me many things about womanhood that have been worth emulating. I have been blessed by the lives of both of my older sisters and am grateful. I also have great relationships with my sisters in law. I am so blessed~

ReplyDeleteI have 3 amazing older sisters and an incredible sister in law. I think though that we learned to be great sisters because we had a mom and 7 amazing aunts who were great examples. I know before I came to this family the role models i had before were the exact opposite. I love you girls! Here's to a heritage we get to be a part of.
