Merry Summer Christmas

As you might know, my mother has no clue that I'm shaving my head to make a wig for her while she goes through chemo.

She's not going to find out until she picks me up from the airport next month and sees me with a scarf on my head and a wig in my hand.

It's like Christmas!

{Minus the snow, tree, Christmas lights, wrapped gifts, time of year...}

  4. Denalee, you are even more noble than I thought. Hats (scarves) off to you!

    On a different note, I've been doing some reading on my own about alkali-ing your diet to prevent or help cure cancer. The typical American diet is highly acidic and cancer prone. A diet consisting mainly of fresh organic vegetables is alkali and prevents or deters cancer growth. I have also been drinking alkali water. I met a walmart greeter who brings me alkali water regularly. Her name is Blanche and her number is 435.669.8055. She can tell you more about the alkali water. Your mom might want to look into it. I'll keep you mom in my prayers.

  6. I admire you tremendously. You will be beautiful bald or wearing a scarf or whatever you decide. It's one of the nicest things you can do for your dear mother.

  10. I am SO thrilled that you not only visited my blog but that you left me a comment so that I could come and FIND YOU. Tears rolling down my cheeks while reading about your Japanese friend whose children were taken. Of course I was super curious about the hair cutting but my ADHD had me start reading at the bottom after scrolling down looking at the posts and photos. When I read the WHY you cut all of your hair, I was in AWE!!! As I was missing my own mom, I felt like she had left me a little message through your blog when I read the words "Bloom where you are planted"!!! WHEW that was powerful because that quote was all over our house while growing up. My mom was a horticulture therapist so the quote was very appropriate for her. Anyhow, thank you so much for leaving me a comment and I look forward to coming back often to visit and find inspiration and reminders to be Grateful, Happy & Calm. Hugz from the island of Sicily (home is where the Navy Plants you!)
