In a slump? Everything going wrong?
This really works: make yourself count your blessings.
Be grateful for a full 5 minutes - only dwelling on each gratitude item for a couple of seconds. It's hard at first to get past the first dozen or so ... but after a minute, everything changes! Troubles leave, burdens lift, the clouds dissipate. Everything becomes clear and absolutely beautiful.
"We can lift ourselves and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude."
President Thomas S. Monson
YES! this really does work.. I've been keeping a Gratitude Journal for some time now... each evening I try to make time to write 3-5 things that happened in the day that I'm grateful for. Going back to read them when I'm feeling less than well .. REALLY does remind me how blessed I really am! xo HHL
ReplyDeleteIt recently occurred to me: It only takes ONE THING to change EVERYTHING.
ReplyDeleteone by one...
I agree. When I around someone with negative energy I try even harder to boost my positive thoughts and words so they can come into my joy. If it doesn't work I get outta Dodge :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed -- it absolutely works!
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I always have time to count my blessings, but I do always have the choice to live a blessed life.
ReplyDeleteIt does work. We can train our minds to think on good things. That is what I do when I feel sad, along with quoting Scripture out loud.
ReplyDeleteI love your attitude :-)
