A man must dream a long time in order to act with grandeur, and dreaming is nursed in darkness.
Jean Genet
I love dreaming.
And I love sleeping.
Now I love it even more since Brooke redesigned our bedroom.
At the foot of the bed is a quilt made by my Grandma Call. She had been living in Arizona and needed a window covering to keep the hot sun out ... so she just "whipped this up". Lucky me to have it now!
The picture at the head of the bed was a gift from my sister, and ended up being the inspiration for our beach-themed bedroom. (Thanks sis!)
Brooke has taught us that freeing ourselves of STUFF actually frees our minds and relaxes our bodies. I love spending time in our bedroom now ...
Another week or so and our bedroom will be absolutely perfect!
Do you love your bedroom, or do you need a daughter to re-make it for you?
I don't love ours. Definitely need a daughter. I should get on that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous purpose of a blog!?! I have always adored "silver strands" and you wear it so very lovely....I am your newest follower! Cheers.
ReplyDeleteWow what a loving way to show your love for your Mom. That is such a huge bit of courage in my book. Thank you today for your comment at My field of dreams. I started my blog when my Mom was sick with cancer so that everyday she could read about something I was doing outside and then she changed her place of residence and I just kept blogging.
ReplyDeleteBeing a very shy person I don't know if I would have ever taken the step in the first place.
But, you giving your hair, that is just so incredibly awesome.
I like your room by the way.
I have a daughter but she's only 3 months...may need to wait a while. Thinking of redesigning my room though. Need some spring colors!

what a beautiful bedroom you have! your daughter
ReplyDeleteis precious to help you, and i agree that too many
possessions clutter our lives and add stress.
Ahhh........peaceful, indeed. This is why I have my "sleeping bedroom" separate and distinct from the room with all the extras we tend to accumulate - dresser, clothes, jewelry box, and on and on. Nice going, Brooke!
ReplyDeleteI love your white quilt!! What a treasure! The pop of color in the pillows and the painting are beautiful with it. I think your daughter is sweet, and is very wise about the decorating in the bedroom. I do love our bedroom, but I know it has too much stuff in it. I have had to turn part of it into a creative space due to our grandchildren living with us now. My husband is a dear though. He loves coming home and seeing my art desk full of a creative project going on!
ReplyDeleteYours is very inspirational!! :) Maybe ours will be clutter free someday!
Blessings to you,
xoxo...Gloria
I love my bedroom! It expresses me in a way that nothing else does :D

ReplyDeleteI've heard it said that simplicity in the bedroom decor is calming, I've yet to try it. Where would I keep all of my yarn?
ReplyDeleteYour room is lovely and I love all of the sentiment attached.
Blessings, Debbie
