A man must dream a long time in order to act with grandeur, and dreaming is nursed in darkness.
Jean Genet
I love dreaming.
And I love sleeping.
Now I love it even more since Brooke redesigned our bedroom.
At the foot of the bed is a quilt made by my Grandma Call. She had been living in Arizona and needed a window covering to keep the hot sun out ... so she just "whipped this up". Lucky me to have it now!
The picture at the head of the bed was a gift from my sister, and ended up being the inspiration for our beach-themed bedroom. (Thanks sis!)
Brooke has taught us that freeing ourselves of STUFF actually frees our minds and relaxes our bodies. I love spending time in our bedroom now ...
Another week or so and our bedroom will be absolutely perfect!
Do you love your bedroom, or do you need a daughter to re-make it for you?

  1. I don't love ours. Definitely need a daughter. I should get on that.

  2. What a gorgeous purpose of a blog!?! I have always adored "silver strands" and you wear it so very lovely....I am your newest follower! Cheers.

  3. Wow what a loving way to show your love for your Mom. That is such a huge bit of courage in my book. Thank you today for your comment at My field of dreams. I started my blog when my Mom was sick with cancer so that everyday she could read about something I was doing outside and then she changed her place of residence and I just kept blogging.
Being a very shy person I don't know if I would have ever taken the step in the first place.
But, you giving your hair, that is just so incredibly awesome.
I like your room by the way.

  4. I have a daughter but she's only 3 months...may need to wait a while. Thinking of redesigning my room though. Need some spring colors!

  5. what a beautiful bedroom you have! your daughter
is precious to help you, and i agree that too many
possessions clutter our lives and add stress.

  6. Ahhh........peaceful, indeed. This is why I have my "sleeping bedroom" separate and distinct from the room with all the extras we tend to accumulate - dresser, clothes, jewelry box, and on and on. Nice going, Brooke!

  7. I love your white quilt!! What a treasure! The pop of color in the pillows and the painting are beautiful with it. I think your daughter is sweet, and is very wise about the decorating in the bedroom. I do love our bedroom, but I know it has too much stuff in it. I have had to turn part of it into a creative space due to our grandchildren living with us now. My husband is a dear though. He loves coming home and seeing my art desk full of a creative project going on!

Yours is very inspirational!! :) Maybe ours will be clutter free someday!

    Blessings to you,

  8. I love my bedroom! It expresses me in a way that nothing else does :D

I love the picture at the head :D

  9. Oh, I forgot to say...I loved the unusual angle of your photo too!! :) Beautiful!

  10. Denalee I love your bedroom quilt and the art is perfect for a nice punch of color!

  12. my daughter would say that she needs her mom to REMAKE her bedroom, and then make everything for it! I'm not through with my bedroom yet! love the simplicity of the quilt, beautiful

  13. I've heard it said that simplicity in the bedroom decor is calming, I've yet to try it. Where would I keep all of my yarn?

Your room is lovely and I love all of the sentiment attached.

    Blessings, Debbie
